California, Oregon, Guam, Hawaii,
Massachusetts, Tennessee, Texas, Hawaii and
Washington sponsor a state sanction high school championship. Since 2000, the number of women who wrestle in high school has grown from 2474 to over
8727. Since 2000, the number of female teams in high school has grown from 734 to 1602.
