Assignment 1 IPv6 Addressing “The American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) is the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) for Canada, many Caribbean and North Atlantic islands, and the United States. ARIN manages the distribution of Internet number resources, including IPv4 and IPv6 address space and AS numbers.” (Rouse, 2007) ARIN provides services related to the technical coordination and management of Internet number resources; i.e. IPV4 address allocation and assignment, IPV6 address allocation and assignment, and Directory Services. “The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) is responsible for the global coordination of the DNS Root, IP addressing, and other Internet protocol resources.” (IANA, Unknown) “APNIC provides number resource allocation and registration services that support the global operation of the Internet. It is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization whose members include Internet Service Providers, National Internet Registries, and similar organizations.” (Unknown, 2013)
