Strategic Plan Part 1: Conceptualizing a Business Strategic planning is critical to the success of any business, especially new emerging ones. “Once a firm has committed itself to a particular strategy, its image and competitive advantages usually are tied to that Strategy”(Pearce & Robinson, 2009, P. 3). This strategic plan will map out the path for Bentley IT Services. The definition of the business and customers is evident in the mission statement. The intended future of the company is consolidated into clear vision statement. The core values of the company server to guide the company in all endeavors. These mission, vision, and values will guide the company on its journey. The five core values are excellence, initiative, teamwork, shared commitment, and integrity. Excellence is superior performance as seen through the eyes of our customers, employees, and shareholders. Initiative is exhibiting desire for action and being responsive to the needs of clients and employees. Teamwork is working together to achieve results and build positive relationships. Shared commitment is the mutual relationship between Bentley IT Services and its employees based on shared goals, trust, and respect. Integrity is dealing honestly and respectfully with clients, employees, shareholders, and the community; abiding by all laws, regulations, and professional standards. Guiding the Strategic Direction The mission statement, vision statement, and core values of Bentley IT Services will serve to guide the company in its strategic direction. The mission statement lets the clients, employees and shareholders know that the company is committed to serving the client’s needs. The mission statement also tells of the company’s expertise in their field. All of this tells everyone concerned of Bentley IT Services customer focus and superior technical abilities. Whether it is customers, employees, or shareholders reading the statement, all will know exactly what the company does. The vision statement outlines how the company desires success through providing excellent service to its customers. Their vision to become the premier IT consulting company
