1. Most businesses experts and investors would agree that the importance of strategic planning cannot be underestimated and can have a great impact on the success or failure of any business venture. The strategic planning process includes identifying the demands and understanding your target population’s needs. The same process can be applied to healthcare programs and prevention plans, although instead of investigating the demand of the target population you must conduct a needs assessment. A needs assessment studies the factors that affect the health of the members of the target population and examines the potential effectiveness of implementing certain health programs.
2. The first step in implementing a health program or prevention plan is conducting a needs assessment, which I have already explained in detail above. Program planning is the second step in this process and requires the information collected from the needs assessment in order to effectively develop and design the actual program to fit the health needs of the population. Finally, the program evaluation is basically an analysis that monitors and measures the effectiveness of the health program. The evaluation consists of using tools to monitor the progress of the program in accordance with the goals and objectives.
