1. What is meant by diversity?

The word ‘Diversity’ is a way of describing something that is ‘different
Should we have sex before marriage? Should same sex marriages be allowed? Is consuming meat ethical or healthy? Are homeowners better than those that only rent? Should smokers have the right to lung transplants? Beliefs can bring people together but equally cause division, arguments and hostility in some cases.

Different beliefs help us to learn more about one another, increase tolerance and become more aware of who we are as individuals and eradicate fears about others.

Age
London has a younger population overall than the national average. As a city, there are proportionally more 25 – 34 year olds than the rest of England. Just under 25% of the Inner London boroughs are aged 25 – 34 compared to 17% and 12% in Outer London and England respectively. By comparison, it has the least amount of over 60’s with just 13% residing in the capital. (source londonspovertyprofile.org.uk)
There is a significant generational gap that exists in communities; with older and younger generations not really understanding one another with fear existing on both sides. Some older people view teenagers as lazy, aggressive and ungrateful, whilst the youngers see their elders as scary, miserable and rude.
The gradual breakdown of the traditional extended family has led to separation between the ages. You don’t really see families out like you may see in countries such as France or Italy, where you have the youngest baby through to the great-grand parents all sharing an
