To apply for the work experience in Athens I had to fill out an application for saying why I would be good for the Athens experience and what I would gain from it. I stated that after I finished my course I would like t study ir work overseas and develop a career abroad. After being accepted for an interview I had to sit with my tutors and discuss one to one why I would be a good for the placement and would stand out from others. My reasons were that I am a strong character with a lot to give and feel that my company in Athens would be used also that I would get a great feel of being away from home and working in an overseas environment.

The placement in Athens was over all a great success in many ways. The development of personal skills was huge as we had some many opportunities to talk to different people from all over the world learning new ways to communicate and ways that many not be tolerated, following instruction and learning authority within the work place. This placement shows me that I can be punctual and organised and could see myself working aboard in the future. The things that we could have been different were that when on the placement we did loads of roll plays but not actual serving customers and when we were with real customer we were only observing were I feel we would of gained a lot of skills if we saw the customer more and saw compliments from them.
