There is always room to develop skills. No matter where you are in life, developing skill is a progressive change. It is important toward success. As defined in Wikipedia, a skill is the learned capacity to carry out pre-determined results often with the minimum outlay of time, energy, or both. In other words the abilities that one possesses. My academic goal while in University of Phoenix is to achieve skills that will lead to a career that has more marketable opportunities. This is something one cannot overemphasized the importance of its objective. The key element of it all is to educate oneself. Regardless of age; oral and written communications are important in today’s business world, whereas, critical thinking is the one that separates a better manager from a good one.

Text messaging kills oral communication. It is the easiest form. However, it can be misleading and does not promote the true concept of shared understanding. This kind of channel leads to many interpersonal difficulties and miscommunications in today's society. There is no formality and dimension; emotion that is conveyed is zero. The true meaning of the message sent is misinterpreted because of its flatness and yet the population is dependent to use in our daily business. As an ESL (English as a Second Language), it is my desire to achieve the true meaning of correct oral communication. Similarly, it is my longing to put into words my thoughts in a form of an upper-level education. Learning this skill in University of Phoenix is achievable. Learning the basic is a fundamental that one has to possess. Adapting a culture is as important as educating oneself. This is the core to put thoughts orally with the correct implications. Thus, developing skills in oral communication will give edge to individual and business relations.

In the business world, writing is consistently ranked among the highest priorities for job applicants and employees. Written communication is an ability to compose a vision and objectives in any given situation. Take a look of the US Constitution; it was drafted with intelligence and carefulness. As for many, it is one of the greatest documents ever written because of its vision. Without a doubt, it has a notable degree of impact to the modern world. My ideal ability in writing is to draw an impact and deliver my thoughts with great extent in a single medium. Learning this skill is easily attainable because it can be followed by some practical methods. Breaking down ideas to form an outline was the first step when US Constitution was conceptualized. This is the key formula one must to follow to compose the abstract in one’s mind.
