Through our policy and procedure and the training and development of managers and staff, the company will do all it can to promote good practice in this area in order to eliminate discrimination or harassment so far as is 1.3 Explain own role and responsibilities in lifelong learning
It is vitally important to me and my career development that I constantly keep up to date with changes in my working environment or to do with my own learning and development. I receive invaluable feedback from my one to ones and appraisals to which I take responsibility to learn more and progress. I have done this in a number of ways one is “knowledge work” which has included professional development within my role and on the job training and job shadowing with peers and senior management. I have also undertaken self-learning whereby I researched and used different internet sites to support my own learning and development – for e.g. compiling and marketing Point of Sale (POS) leaflets, images and looked at competitor markets before I had the final draft signed off. As a Deputy Manager it is my responsibility to co-ordinate and deliver staff training requirements including, Induction, customer service and selling skills training courses liaising with the Training Manager where appropriate. When facilitating training sessions or training requirements, some of my responsibilities as a trainer are: 1. To be a role model – Professionalism, prior experience and knowledge, Communication and presentation skills and what the end result should look like 2. Facilitator – Mentor, use learning
