It is vitally important to me and my career development that I constantly keep up to date with changes in my working environment or to do with my own learning and development. I receive invaluable feedback from my one to ones and appraisals to which I take responsibility to learn more and progress.
I have done this in a number of ways one is “knowledge work” which has included professional development within my role and on the job training and job shadowing with peers and senior management. I have also undertaken self-learning whereby I researched and used different internet sites to support my own learning and development – for e.g. compiling and marketing Point of Sale (POS) leaflets, images and looked at competitor markets before I had the final draft signed off.
As a Deputy Manager it is my responsibility to co-ordinate and deliver staff training requirements including, Induction, customer service and selling skills training courses liaising with the Training Manager where appropriate.
