Abortion is the intentional termination of a pregnancy; it allows women to put an end to their pregnancies, but also involves killing the undeveloped embryo. Abortion is a serious and sensitive subject, emotionally for the mother carrying the child and also for the people surrounding her. It is a hard topic to discuss and something that many people disagree with. It is a complex decision that many women choose to make everyday, a decision that could affect them for the rest of their lives. A major factor that is missing in today’s world is moral values. I strongly believe that abortion is an act of murder and that everything should be given a chance to live a life. At the moment of conception a human life is formed. This has been a debatable issue where some argue that it is not murder, because the fetus has no heartbeat for the first 18 days. Legal abortion is reported as the firth leading cause of maternal deaths in the United States. The deaths that occurred within a week of the surgery are hemorrhage, infection, embolism, anesthesia, and undiagnosed pregnancies. Women that have been through an abortion face a 2.3 times higher risk for having cervical cancer, compared with women of no history of an abortion. Abortion increases the risk of premature delivery and ectopic pregnancies. Placenta previa is a life threatening for both mother and her wanted pregnancy; which abortion increases this risk. Study shows that abortion is linked with 34 percent greater chance of anxiety disorders, and 37 percent higher chance of depression, a more than double risk of alcohol abuse, and 155 percent greater risk of trying to commit suicide. 75 percent of men agreed with their partner’s decision to have an abortion and that many experienced a complex mix of emotions including anxiety, guilt, relief, responsibility, and grief. Any time you make such a rash decision like this, it is natural to worry and to agonize over the decision. Many people see abortion as a negative effect on lives, but could it also have positive effects? There is a quality of life of both the child and mother. If the child is aborted, then it could be spared from not only ruining the mother and or father’s life, but also having a poor life itself. A lot of people choose adoption to avoid abortion. Most women who choose to put their baby up for adoption decline quickly after the baby is born. 52 percent women that choose abortion are younger
