Silent Killer
Conceiving a baby through a planned pregnancy can take many years or it can take one night of meaningless unprotected sex, resulting in an unplanned pregnancy. There are many times when a woman doesn't know she is pregnant until she visits a doctor. Since it is an unplanned pregnancy, it leaves her with a hard unwanted decision to carry on with the pregnancy or to terminate it. Abortion is the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy. If a woman decides to abort her baby, the baby can't do anything about their life being taken away from them. Their whole future is demolished. I believe abortion is wrong when committing it for a selfish reason.
There are two sides to the abortion topic. Those strongly opposed to abortion call themselves "pro-life.” Many of those who support the right to have an abortion call themselves "pro-choice," or those who believe it is a woman's right to choose what she does with her body. These two groups offer different solutions to the problem. The pro-life solution is to have the child and basically live with it. They believe abortion is not an answer. The pro-choice view is that abortion is a way of terminating a pregnancy that the mother feels is appropriate. Should it be legal for victims of rape who have no other alternative? Or should a woman have the right to kill her innocent child as a form of birth control?
People hold sharply different views on whether or not a fetus should be protected. Many believe that life begins at conception, the moment when an egg is fertilized by a sperm. These people, who argue that even this earliest form of life has the same rights as a person, generally oppose abortion at any stage of pregnancy. Others claim that an embryo or fetus is not a person until the time of birth. Such a view, held by some pro-choice advocates, suggests that an embryo or a fetus has no rights to be protected.
Some of the issues concerning abortion are related to the safety of the procedure. Despite the fact that abortion was illegal in the United States before 1973, many women were able to find someone who would help them end their pregnancy. Often performed by untrained individuals in unsanitary conditions, these illegal abortions harmed women physically, increased the risks associated with future pregnancies, and even resulted in death.
Imagine a 16 year old girl had an abortion, because she didn’t think she’d be a good mom and didn’t think she would be able to make it through financially. Now she’s 25 and married. She looks back at her life and there’s nothing she regrets most. Is abortion murder though? According to the Webster Dictionary, abortion is to terminate a pregnancy because the baby is not capable of living. Murder is to kill another human being.
Abortion is a very controversial subject that has been continually argued over for the past few years and probably many years to come. In my eyes abortion is wrong on some standard, but many believe it can be the right thing to do. I understand that there are some circumstances that people consider abortion to be their only way out. In certain cases, the pregnancy is a result of rape. Although I feel great sympathy for these people that have been through a tragedy, still is it the child's fault? We have people that can't conceive that want more than anything to be blessed with a child. So why not before taking the life of your own, give her or him, and opportunity to live a happy, successful life whether it is with or without you.
The parents find it challenging to afford the expenses of an additional family member. It also happens that becoming a mother is too much of a responsibility. Maybe the woman carrying the child is not ready for it. The pregnancy is too complicated for the mother to give birth that it becomes absolutely necessary to go for such options. Giving life to an unhealthy baby and watching it suffer all day and night can be highly jeopardizing
