Executive Summary
I am going to describe the importance of having a manager and the skills involved. I will describe 3 personal managerial skills and 3 professional managerial skills I found after thorough research and I feel they are the most important for a manager to become a good manager. The 3 Personal skills I described were; Communication, Delegation, and Motivational skills. The 3 Professional skills described include: Building good relationships, Decision-Making, Boundary Enforcement. I will then further describe each skill and how to become a good manager. 1. Why I picked the topic and my previous experience with the topic I picked this topic because as a manager, I feel the better I can understand the fundamentals of management and how to apply managerial techniques in the workplace, I then can develop a position for improvement and furthering my career and understandings. I have had much experience with the topic including my own personal experience of 8 years in the industry. After taking this course and many relatable courses i feel i have a better understanding and still have much to learn! 2. What do i intend to do with the knowledge gained from the creation of this paper I will use this paper and the knowledge gained through research and the textbook to apply in my current workplace and any promotional opportunities i might gain in the future with my new knowledge and understandings. I feel i was able to gain many more perspectives on the general topic and that aloud me to develop my own interpretation and understandings to pass on to others. After taking this course and applying my new knowledge at my current workplace i realized that i was the negator in the workplace 4 and found it best that I move on from my employment of The Windjammer Restaurant after, 8 years of service. This was mainly due to the boss’s daughter(Assistant Manager) to feel insecure and I sensed envy. I worked in all positions of the restaurant throughout my years and in result I tend to know the right things to do and how things are to be done. I feel my presence made her uncomfortable and feel less important. I did not intend my actions to be perceived that way. I was only acting on instinct. A day after turning in my notice of leave i received a random phone call that was a job opportunity that offered me a general manager position at a golf course and resort. This amazed me! I feel knowledge empowers us all and opens doors of opportunity when we search to gain the knowledge needed.

the characteristics of effective and compelling writing, and engage in a conversation about the essay form.
