The article I chose discusses religious affiliation and public opinion on President Barack Obama’s foreign policy in the Middle East. Although this article is a couple years old, it is still a relevant issue, because many people feel Obama’s foreign policy is weak and it will cause problems within The United States.
How might you use the strategies for applying creativity to problems and issues in addressing this topic?
When addressing this topic, I think one of the most effective strategies for applying creativity to this issue is to take the novel approach. If Barack Obama would look at how his foreign policy could affect the people of The United States, he might be more able to understand where his policy is weak. Doing this could help the president to fix any flaws in the policy, which is another strategy for applying creativity – improving things. Improving the foreign policy to better protect citizens of The United States should be a number one priority. Also, improving the foreign policy could help other countries from starting wars with rival countries. This is very relevant because Russia has recently invaded the Ukraine. After watching some news coverage on this issue, it seems that there is not much being done about the invasion. Although this may not seem important in America, it could lead other countries to start wars here because of the lack of a strict foreign policy.

To promote curiosity in addressing this issue, I would ask why the presidents’ foreign policy makes sense. I would also ask how the foreign policy is supposed to help America and other countries. This strategy would be effective because it would help to see if the presidents’ foreign policy is logical for everyone involved. Many people believe that Barack Obama’s foreign policy is biased because of religious affiliation. The best strategy for applying creativity to promote curiosity would be “devising or modifying a process or system.” The foreign policy should be modified in a way that protects The United States as well as help other countries. America is dependent on several foreign countries for several different things. We buy oil and have many import-export systems set up with various countries. If the foreign policy fails either side, then it could create chaos within the country and leave people without basic needs.
