Becoming a part of history

Most entrepreneurs if they have been in business long enough will know that it takes more than a desire and drive to succeed in business. 

Must have a working knowledge of financial and personnel management, laws and regulations.

Entrepreneurs must get familiar with the business law governing their state and they must educate themselves on the market

First know who you are, what you are about, is it your calling?
You will be willing to do whatever it takes to succeed. You must ensure as a leader that you are also relatable!!!!!

People will not buy what you are selling if they cannot make a connection with you

EXAMPLES

If you are selling fried Chicken but you are a vegetarian who don’t care for meat and is only interested in my money than that is misrepresentation.

So what happens if I have an issue with your fry chicken? You cannot help me……. because you cannot relate. 

Let’s say you are a mother with a case of BAD KIDS, would you take advise from a single woman, who has never had a child? Would you buy weight loss advise, from an overweight seller?........I think not……… make yourself relatable to your clients.

What’s your story? Here’s mine

Worked corporate for approx. 10 years in total in all my life

First Book – From Brokenness to Victory

Married 2001 started first business as a booking agent and artist manager 

Writing & speaking

2006 - Consulting and contractual services – with BATCO (Craven A,
Matterhorn, Pall Mall & Dunhill)

Re-settled in the US, struggled to find a job

Started my company OBSL

Fashion – Rizpah Fashions

Awarded as one of FL’s Top Executives of 2014

2007 – Bad Divorce

Picked up Law – University of London

Wrote 2nd book, increased Speaking appearances,
Entrepreneur school among other accomplishments

Just like you I wasn’t extraordinary I just had a determination and a drive, but I was CONSISTENT with my determination.
A Case study from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) reports that it is young people – up to the age of 35, or 40 in most regions – who are starting up in business.

CONCEPT OF BRAND

Do you have a brand concept for your business? What do people say about you when you enter or leave a room? Do you stand out? 

Do people view you, your business, the same way you do? Have you ever researched?

THERE is no one accepted definition of a brand, only a set of perspectives that share a significant degree of agreement:

visual/verbal approaches * positioning approaches

brand image approaches * added value approaches

perceptual appeal approaches * personality approaches

What is branding why it is important

BRANDS have been around for decades but became a particular feature of the marketing landscape during the 1980s and the 1990s. Many of the best-known brands go back a long time. Such as Coca-Cola, Mercedes, Colgate, Heinz, and
American Express

Brands such as IBM, Rank Xerox, and ICI have been around for over half a century.

YOUR BRAND IS WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE
THE ROOM.
- AMAZON’S JEFF

BEZOS

2.1 Visual/verbal approaches

Some brands are instantly recognizable by their packaging, while others are instantly recognized by their symbol—for example, Mercedes.

2.2 Positioning approaches

Position in the consumer's mind that distinguishes your brand from the competition.
