After many years of in depth study and research of the human brain, we can finally say that it is not as much a mystery as it was not long ago. Although many functions of the brain are indeed yet to be fully understood and mastered, we do however, have a very firm grasp on many others. The general purpose of this paper is to give the reader a little better understanding of the basic anatomy of the brain as well as some of its functions. If we were to take a quick glance at the sections which are the sum of the human brain and make up 85% of the brains wieght, (Meyers 2014) we would first find the Cerebrum sectioned into two hemispheres, (left/right) then covered by the Cerebral Cortex, a thin membrane consisting of billions and billions of interconnected neural cells resposible for processing every bit of information we take in. This Cortex is then divided into the four lobes, the Frontal, Parietal, Temporal and Occipital lobes make up the structure together, yet each play a very different role. The Frontal Lobe for instance, which is located just behind the forehead, is responsible for a number duties. Its main function however is recognizing the consequences of our actions, be they good or bad. If thats not enough, other duties include storage of long-term memories as well as housing for our Primary Motor Cortex, responsible for our bodies voluntary movement of certain body parts. Should an accident resulting in damage to the Frontal Lobe occur, it is possible that one may
