There were many major events that have occurred during Anne Frank’s life time. One major event was the World War II which had occurred in 1939 and ended in 1945. You can tell that many people, who served in the war, were willing to devote their lives for the sake of others by the following quote: “It was the most widespread war in history with more than one hundred million people serving in military units” (Wikipedia). During this event, it had all started out by a leader named Adolf Hitler, who had led a political party in Germany of the Nazis. He was the Chancellor of Germany and he ruled the most powerful of the “Axis” nations. The second war was started by Germany with a no motivation attack on Poland. Britain and France declared war on Germany after Hitler had refused to control his invasion of Poland. The amount of dead people estimated around fifty million to over seventy million. Civilians killed, totaled from thirty eight to fifty five million; including thirteen to twenty million from war related diseases, and famine. The total military dead, ranged from twenty two to twenty five million. This included deaths in prison, which was about five million. Another event was the World Wide Great Depression, which had struck many countries by the end of the 1920s. Although the Great Depression was not severe in some countries, it was massive in the United States of America. You can tell that many people were not happy with their lives by the following quote: “Twenty five percent of all workers and thirty seven percent of all nonfarm workers were completely out of work” (The Concise Encyclopedia of Economics). The homeless people had found ways to travel from place to place, they were also known as vagabonds. Many cotton farmers were known as the Okies, they had stuffed their belongings into sheds which caused them to migrate to California. You can tell that as a few years went by, the economy slowly began to develop by the following quote: “The U.S. economy slowly began to recover in the second quarter of 1933, the recovery largely stalled for most of 11939 and 1935” (The Concise Encyclopedia of Economics). Lastly, the third major event that had occurred during Anne Frank’s lifetime was the Pearl Harbor. Before eight in the morning of December 7th, 1941, many Japanese fighters attacked the Americans. They attacked near Honolulu, Hawaii. The Japanese destroyed about twenty American naval vessels. They also destroyed battleships, approximately two hundred air planes. More than two thousand American soldiers and sailors died from the attack an about one thousand people were wounded or injured. You can tell that these soldiers will be remembered by the following quote: “Monuments were made for the lives of Soldiers who saved many people’s lives” (The Concise Encyclopedia of Economics).

Margot was three years older than Anne, and she was always a very quiet, shy, and serious girl. The Frank family was an upper middle-class German-Jewish family. THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK – ASSIGNMENT 1. There are numerous reasons for the popularity of Anne Frank’s style of writing. First of all, the diary is very well written, it’s clear and concise, easy to understand and the language level is quite high: “It's really a wonder that I haven't dropped all my ideals, because they seem so absurd and impossible to carry out. Yet I keep them, because in spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” “I can shake off everything…
On June 12, 1942,Anne Frank’s parents gave her a small red-and-white-plaid diary for her thirteenth birthday. When Anne received her diary, she and her family were living in Amsterdam (The Netherlands) which was occupied by the German Army. By Anne’s thirteenth birthday she, like every other European Jew, was living in fear of the Nazis and their anti-Jewish decrees. On July 6, 1942, her family was…
appears that the infamous Anne Frank, along with the other members of the Annex, agreed with Mr. Litten and his ideas of free thinking heartily. There were many instances of when Anne and the other Annex members demonstrated this theme from Mr. Litten’s poem, such as when Anne’s relationship with Peter began to evolve into dating and she wrote a letter to her parents declaring things like “I’m a young woman now,” and, “I don’t need parental supervision on all of my choices.” Anne also established the…
