A person needs to achieve certain goals in life to be able to consider themselves successful. I have set many goals that I want to meet in this lifetime. Some are professional, while others are personal. Getting my degree in business administration I am planning on getting a job that I can work in a office. Then I can take the next steps to get a better position with a higher pay grade. That will ultimately help me reach my all time life goal, to get a nice place to live, with animals, and a big yard for my kids to play in. There are so many things in the world, a nice car, a fancy house, or even the simplest things in life. You might have them working a minimum wage job but chances are, if you have them then you are or have struggled to get them. The only sure way in life that your finances will be met is to go get some kind of education. According to D. Kultzleben (2014) "among millennials ages 25 to 32, median annual earnings for full-time working college-degree holders are $17,500 greater than for those with high school diplomas only." That is a big difference when you are trying to support a family. Having a college degree will also help you get promotions, or even a completely differently job. I want to get a job where I can be in the office doing different task and off on the weekends. However, without getting a education I will be ringing up orders and dealing with difficult customers, working all kinds of hours. My education will open door to many different career paths and the opportunities will be endless. I will have options to choose from not just McDonalds and Burger King. Upon completion I will have a lot more self pride. I will be able to say I did it, set a good example for my two kids.
