The module is delivered via a two hour class plus a one hour computer room session per week over 13 weeks. Tutorial attendance will also be required. To complete the module successfully you must also allocate a substantial amount of independent study time.
Most sessions comprise a formal lecture of approximately 90 minutes and a seminar. Weeks 2, 4 and 9 will include tutorials (group and individual) in which you have the opportunity to discuss your progress on the module with the tutor.

4. Module Description
This module aims to provide you with a contextual understanding of care across the life stages and skills utilised within the health care sector. You will discuss relevant underpinning theories of ageing and explain how they may be used to understand effective care as a professional operating within the health care sector. You will explore fundamental safeguarding policies and methods and recognise the importance of effective planning and interpersonal interaction with service users and health care professionals.
