In the histories of some culture, people went to war to defend their beliefs and do anything necessary to defend the cause they believed in. People believe in their rights because it is what their family has been doing for generations. Without defending our rights the United States of America would not be what it is today. All people should be able to defend their rights within good reasoning. Within good reasoning, I mean you shouldn’t just go into a gay marriage and break it up if you do not believe in it. Another example is that my dad on Eid would always make my mom make the same my grandma did when my dad was a kid and we do the same thing every year because that what my dad believes in. Another example in the short story “The Sniper” by Liam O’ Flaherty the main character did not stop until he killed his enemy; it is like his belief like he will not stop. In the end he did kill him because he believed he could. If you believe in something you should do it even if you had to kill your own brother to do what you had to believe in just like in “The Sniper”. If even if you had to kill yourself you should stand up for what you believe in. Others may agree that you should not believe that you should defend your rights all the time. However, this is less valid because without defending our beliefs, the United States of America would not exist. This is because the British would have taken over our nation

Gun Control…Do we need it? Gun control again has become big issue in the last seven months. In the wake of the shootings at Sandy Hook and the Aurora movie theater in Colorado, therefore do we need gun control or not? I believe as Americans we have the right own guns and I don’t think we need gun control. I will place my arguments on concealed weapons and our rights to have guns to defend our self. The 2nd Amendment states that “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free…
shooting. There are so many different views on whether citizens should have the right to buy firearms, especially the assault rifle, military grade firearm. In the Magazine “Special Weapons” an advertisement for a major firearm company Sig Sauer has a new add out for their new AR-15. At the bottom of the page it says in bold print, “defend your freedom”. This advertisement can cause so many arguments for what has been going on in our country over the last couple months. People are scared of…
the political mess? You.” It talks about how we the people are to blame for the political mess we as a country are in. I definitely agree with this article. It states multiple valid points to why we are in the tough spot that we are in. The article states that “we want [the government] to fix our problems. At the same time, we want government to shrink, spend less, and to reduce our taxes.” I feel that the people are asking too much of our government. We want the government to do a variety of things…
To Kill a Mockingbird In the book To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus who is a lawyer chooses to defend a black man named Tom Robinson that was accused of raping a white woman which is Bob Ewells daughter. In my own opinion its a good thing that Atticus defends Tom because no one ever stands up for the black people just because of the color of their skin. The whites do not think that the blacks should have the same equal rights as they do. Atticus thinks its wrong for them to do that so he tries to help t…
March 8, 2013 769 words American Violence Violence in our country has come to the forefront of the social and political stage in recent months. Many different people have differing views on what causes people to be violent, or what even constitutes as “wrong” violence. No one can come to an agreement on the correct reach of gun laws and purchasing requirements. The thing that everyone seems to agree on though is that we should inherently be passive when it comes to choosing whether to be…
children, whose bodies I saw turned into wreaths of smoke beneath a silent blue sky. Never shall I forget those flames which consumed my faith forever.” People should never have to witness that kind of stuff that is clearly torture so that it violates the human rights. Humans deserve the right to not be tortured because it’s plainly not right to treat your fellow man like that (pg.3 Article 5). No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. ‘Where…
put everything on the line to defend the claims to life, liberty, and property. In life, humans have had wars, battles, and quarrels, thus we have always had soldiers and veterans, although they may have not been what people think of now. Humans have always had defenders to the claims that they make. Veterans and soldiers are the glue of the nation, because they had put all of their strengths, weaknesses, hopes, dreams, and fears on the line to protect the natural rights that people have, and yet humans…
feels that putting women in serious combat positions endangers the women as well as their fellow male soldiers because of a man's natural instinct to defend a woman in danger and because they feel women don't have the physical and mental capacity to endure the same kind of experience, I believe since women are allowed to serve in the Armed Forces they should be allowed access to ALL available opportunities in which to serve. Women are given the same opportunities as men to serve in law enforcement,…
constraint in choice or action. In America however this definition is simply interpreted as a citizen’s right to express his beliefs throughout various forms included but not limited to press, speech, and the art. This nation was founded under the principle that government should not posses more power that the people is serving. Acknowledging that each and citizens is entitled to these rights. The most difficult question is up to what extend can government limit those liberties to protect the wellbeing…
20 November 2013 Firearms and Society The greatest achievement a firearm is capable of creating, is to end a life. This is often a difficult concept to be agreed upon, but one that warrants a further exploration as it conflicts with many of our values. According to the CDC “Deaths: Preliminary Data for 2011” accounts for 19,766 suicides by firearm discharge, 11,101 homicides by firearm discharge and with the inclusion of “discharge of firearms, undetermined intent” along with deaths caused…
