Essay Question: Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what lessons did you learn? It’s never easy admitting you’ve made mistakes, but it is a crucial step in learning, growing, and improving yourself. You have a million chances to fix them, but it is all up to you. They are what make us stronger and wiser and you will never stop learning from them. Without mistakes, you will never learn or have any experience from life. You can only learn from your mistakes after you actually admit that you’ve made one. To actually admit you have made a mistake can increase the possibility of fixing the problem and continue on in life. I can definitely make a connection to this from my mistakes and human error. As a child, you may think to yourself “nothing can go wrong” or “everything will be alright.” Childhood is what forms us. Those influences are the key to everything. Growing up with my parents has been a blessing. They are the ones who were there on the first day of Pre-School up until the first day of my senior year in high school. These moments are memorable and unforgettable. Throughout my juvenescence, I was a very quiet, yet sweet little girl. Just like any other child, I was also curious, adventurous, and eager to learn new things. As I grew older, I was shy and self conscious. I remember on my first day of sixth grade I would think to myself “what are they going to say about me?” and “will they like me?” These moments are the ones that will scar you for life and make you look back into them and think to yourself “wow, I was such an innocent child who believed anything what was told.”

That as we go through this stage, everything changes…physically, mentally, socially, and most of all, emotionally. As we go through life, we meet changes. Changes that will make our character stand above all. For a short period of our adolescence, we must try to make this the exciting, enjoyable, and memorable times in our life. As a teenager, you can make a million mistakes and not realize it until it gets bad and there is nothing you can do about it. I myself have made mistakes but I eventually learned from them. Throughout the first three years of high school, I was very careless, and I always thought to myself “college is a long way ahead.” Those three years can fly by really fast. During those three years, I was careless about my school work and slack in school. Although, on the back of my mind I knew that someday I wanted to be successful and study biology. My 9th grade teacher, Ms. Smith motivated me to study biology because the subject is hands on work and she was so passionate about the subject. I wanted to become like her but unfortunately, she left the school on my sophomore year. Also, emotions can get in the way and distract you from your life. I was going through a lot because during my high school years, a very important person has left my life. My uncle who I had looked up to was in a shooting accident, and it really shocked my family and me. I always looked up to him because he was a strong, giving person who was a leader and has influenced many people in his surroundings. My family was slowly by slowly drifting away and I couldn’t stand the fact that I was losing the people I loved. I
