1a) King John signed the Magna Carta in 1215. It provided that the nobility would be protected against unjust punishment, loss of life, and certain taxes. Over the years, the ideas of the Magna Carta were expanded to include other members of British society.
1b) The British Parliament has two houses of government, a house of commons and a house of Lords. A bill had to pass both houses of Parliament to become law. The Constitutional Convention used that pattern and established a congress with two houses.
1c) the Constitution as is the Mayflower Compact were formed on the same bases. The bases of equality and the fact that everyone was created equal. It also indirectly states back to the Constitution that we all have unalienable rights. "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit Of Happiness.
1d) The House of Burgesses Gave the founding fathers an example of what the legislature should look like, multiple branches.

2a) Britain wanted to control the colonies trade markets without their consent.
2b) The French and Indian war was the final war in a series of wars that had occurred during the French and Indian Wars between the French and the British, which were mostly fought in the American colonies over control of forts and river trading routes. In this final war, England decided that the battles in Europe were more deserving of their time and left the colonists to fend almost entirely for themselves against the French and the Natives.
2c) The American colonists had no parliamentary representation and therefore had no say in the decision to collect those taxes.
2d) the Stamp Act, which required the purchase of stamps which were required for the purchase of many items. The most well known of the items that the stamps were required for was tea. The stamp tax, not the phrase, led to the Boston Tea Party, not the Boston Massacre.
2e) as a result of the tax on tea, the Americans had a thriving black market in imported tea. So the British East India company, in response, slashed their prices in order to compete with the black market tea. . When the tea act was passed, this was the straw to break the camels back. with the sons of liberty in charge, they all dumped the tea. This was also the final straw for england. This act showed that the colonists were not going to cooperate. The boston tea party showed that the only solution was war at that point.
2f) . Common Sense was written January of 1776. It was 46 pages long, and sold nearly 120,000 copies within the first few months. It was first anonymous signed "written by and Englishman. After a while Thomas Paine came out as the author. This book talked about how the king has wronged us, religion influences, how the government and humanity were different, and several other factors.

3a/3b) The Declaration of Independence has five parts. They are the Preamble, the Statement of Human Rights, Charges Against Human Rights, Charges Against the King and Parliament, and the Statement of Separation and Signatures. The main purpose of the Declaration of Independence was to announce the colonies separation from England. It also stated the principles that were the foundation for seeking independence. The Declaration of Independence states that all men are created equal and are entitled to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." These ideas would be expressed again in the new republic's Constitution. These ideas form the basis of our beliefs about the role of our government in our lives today.
3c) Locke states the existence of a "Natural Law" that transcends any man-made law. Simply put all citizens have a right to "life, liberty and property." Furthermore Locke states that a legitimate government can only obtain its legitimacy from the consent of those whom it governs. Consent is necessary because for any government to exist individuals must voluntarily surrender some of the freedom they would possess if they existed in "a state of nature."
4a/4b) The Articles of
