Problem: We are doing this lab in order to describe the motion of a toy car that is released from rest and accelerated along a flat surface.
Materials:
Toy Car
Ticker Tape Timer
Ticker Tape
Carbon Disc
Ruler
Masking Tape
Procedure:
1. Take the ticker tape and run it through the ticker timer at constant speed and record results.
2. Now take the ticker tape and run it through the ticker timer with an increasing speed and record what you see.
3. Take the ticker tape and run it through the ticker timer with a decreasing speed and record what you see.
4. Tape the end of the ticker tape to a wind up car. Wind the car up and put the tape through the ticker timer. Turn on the ticker timer and release the car. Record the results so that you will be able to calculate the velocity of the toy car.

Calculations: On lined paper and graph sheets.
Accuracy: Throughout the lab you could of ran into many problem the only way you could mess up is if you didn’t calculate your calculations right or if you didn’t feed the ticker tape through the ticker timer properly .
Questions
#1\#2: When the ticker tape goes through the ticker timer at a constant speed the spacing dots look like they are evenly space, because the tape is being pulled at a constant velocity.
#3/#4: If you take the ticker tape, and run it through the ticker timer with an increasing speed. The spacing dots will start off closer together because of a slow speed, and then they will start to get further part due to the fact the ticker timer is
