The 4 roles of a sports coach I am going to talk about it are for them to be a motivator, an organiser, a mentor and a role model.

Motivator – a good motivator is someone who’s their who’s able to enthuse a team and who’s able to influence them to play their best. A motivator is there to drive their team to achieve their aims. Sports coaches are extrinsic motivators, extrinsic

Communication – Communication is the art of successfully sharing meaningful information with people by means of an interchange of experience. Coaches wish to motivate the athletes they work with and to provide them with information that will allow them to train effectively and improve performance. Communication from the coach to athlete will initiate appropriate actions, the athlete will then be able to improve from what their coach is telling them to do. A coach with good communication skills is someone like Andy Farrell he needs to be good a communicating with his players because he needs to give out a lot of orders for positions players need to be in and markers where players need to run; he is the backs co-ordinator for the England rugby team.

Organisation – if a coaching or training session is to be effective it must be organised. Organising a sports session will include, making sure you have the facilities to play in (they may need to be booked), it will involve organising what you are going to be doing during that session e.g. different drills and possibly taking separate
