Good morning fellow students, my name is Damien and today is the beginning of Dark texts week. Within this concept it involves in depth exploring of the dark nature of the human soul through two texts. Humans have the ability to cause pain and suffering upon others, this is clearly shown in the following texts. The poem ‘five ways to kill a man’ by Edwin Brock and the other is a dark painting named ‘A Pilgrimage to San Isidro’ by Francisco Lucientes.
Firstly ‘five ways to kill a man’ clearly depicts the dark nature of the human soul. The poem is about the human race dying from the earliest recorded time phase continuing on to the present. The poem begins with the crucifixion of Jesus, then the second stanza is the medieval battle, the third is WW1, the forth is WWII and the final stanza is the current 20th century.
