Self-Leadership Assessment Chapter 3 As I was reading this chapter one part that caught my attention was the information it gave about self-imposed strategies and self-observation. It gives me thoughts on what I can do to improve my life with this particular subject. As I look for a new job a good start is to take a step back and look at myself and figure out what I want to do and what I am jobs I am capable of doing. After I have a better understanding of myself I can develop strategies for where I want to go and how I will get there. Lately I have been guilty of judging other people and I really have no reason to because everyone has the opportunity to live the way they choose to. All throughout high school and my first two years here at Housatonic I was a firm believer of not judging a book by its cover because you never know what someone is going through and why they are acting the way they are. What I first realized after reading this chapter is that I need to judge myself and how I am approaching things on a day to day basis and to get away from judging people like I did in previous years. Even though you can get input about yourself from friends and family, you are the one who decides to take that help into action or let it float around in your head and have it take up space. And everyone has to remember that it is there life they are living so they need to make educated choices. Another point that the self-observation strategy pointed out was to jot down notes about your actions on a daily basis where you can examine those notes later and then you can see your day in writing. With your day in a quick little writing it can help you eliminate unnecessary actions throughout your day and improve on other key ones. Another section that caught my attention on where I could improve on is self-goal setting. After reading this section it stood out to me because most people just go under the radar to get by. Some people stay under the radar and have no goals just to get by at their job or school but I think it is important for people to push themselves to do better every day. Some people just don’t have that attitude and will never adapt to it but I think it is
