After I search the outcome of Personal Globe inventory in the O' Net website, I find three new occupations which is most similar to my profiles. They are Architectural Drafters, computer Programmers, and Financial Quantitative Analysts. I will analyze these occupations from different aspects one by one below. The first occupation is an Architectural drafter; it has several tasks to meet. One of task is operating computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment or conventional drafting station to produce design, working drawing, charts and records. Other task is like analyzing building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs. Architectural drafter also need to deal with the coordinate structural and electrical designs to determine a method of presentation which graphically represent building plans. To be a Architectural drafter, the major and experience needed is various, as you need knowledge of design techniques, arithmetic, algebra and geometry, you should also get familiar with the tools involved in production of technical plans. Besides, to be acquainted with circuit boards, chips and electronic equipment are also request to do this job better, so your major could be applied science, accountancy, design. I think the student organizations that are connected to Architectural drafter are the organization what have relevant works to this occupation, such as the design and architectural organization. In addition, there are professional organizations needed architectural drafters. One organization named American Design Drafting Association is a premier professional organization for Drafter, designers, and engineer. Another organization named Association for computer Aided Design in Architecture also servers to promote the critical thinking and communication by using the computer in architecture. When we consider about the occupation, we also take the wages into consideration. After doing some research online, it is easy to find the average of Architectural drafter is $ 22.72 hourly and $ 47250 annual. The wage is obviously not as high as I expected, but considering about the employment of this occupation is not as high as others, and its projected growth is also slower than other industry, I think this occupation would become more popular in the future. Architectural drafter is occupation, which fit my major and my interest. I like drawing pictures and analyzing data, this occupation combine my interests. My major is also relevant to this occupation; I learn some knowledge of computer science and program procedures, which could help me doing better in this occupation. Meanwhile, by doing this job, I can achieve my goals of career with satisfied with my interests and major. Every occupation has its limitations and benefits. For me, to be an architectural drafter means you will have a lot of work to do, and they are so difficult. This occupation needs high attention to detail, and being highly careful thorough in completing work tasks, it also requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situation. But Architectural drafter also has its benefit; I like its flexible work and sense of achievement when you complete a work. The second occupation is computer programmers, this occupation has responsibility of correcting errors by making appropriate changes and rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results and produces, other work is writing, updating and maintain computer programs or software packages to handle specific job such as tracking inventory, storing or retrieving data, or controlling other equipments. To be a computer programmer, you need to learn knowledge of electronics, Mathematics, and administration and management.
