President Barack Obama’s Inauguration speech was very inspirational. He spoke to the people, for the people, and about the people. There were different parts that were directed to people with different concerns. Some people are concerned about the economy and how he plans to fix it. While there are others that may be skeptical that Obama will meet his demands at all. Then there are those who are happy because we have a president that is not white. “This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed--why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent mall, and why a man whose father less than sixty years ago, might not have been served at a local resturaunt, can now stand before you and take a most sacred oath.” This particular excerpt from President Barack Obama’s Inauguration speech is very powerful and deep. It shows his pride for being the first black president to take the most sacred, and said in the most professional way. When only sixty years earlier, he could have been denied entry to the grocery store. He recognizes all the efforts put forth to stop discrimination, that on this day, has truly been successful. This passage shows that he recognizes how times have changed in such a short time. And so it has. Back in the 40’s-60’s, African American men, women, and children were highly and sometimes violently discriminated against. Most everything was segregated and separated. It was not an uncommon thing to walk through the park and see two water fountains, one labeled blacks, or niggers, and the other, whites. Now, like Obama said, men, women, and children of every race and creed can gather in celebration across this magnificent mall. Barack Obama's inaugural speech was also special for many different reasons. He related back to many different presidents and past events. He used the main points that are expected in a presidential speech. But most importantly, he presented a speech that really showed America of his plans during his presidency. First he said many things related to past presidents, speeches, and events. He talked about the founding fathers and their hopes and plans for this nation, saying "Our founding fathers ... our found fathers, faced with perils we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man, a charter expanded by the blood of generations." He then explained how we have carried them out. He included a George Washington quote. Washington was the
