In my life bowling is a big deal. Almost everyone in my family bowls, it's in our blood. Just as my brothers and sister I wanted to qualify for the NYS scholarship tournament. This for my family is a big deal. Both my brother and sister went to the NYS scholarship tournament. So I thought to follow the path and go too. So first, I decided to join a junior bowling league. Luckily, there was one in my area and I joined. After I joined, I made a team with a couple friends and my sister. We all got a bowling ball and shoes to get started. We all wanted to get better and try as hard as possible to be good. We tried out for a lot of small tournaments to get more practice. We helped each other out and we just had fun which is what really counts in the end. In my bowling league they were taking peoples scores and putting them in to qualify for the Pepsi tournament (the first tournament of the NYS scholarship tournament). Later, I found out my brother, my sister, and me all qualified. When we got the results of the Pepsi tournament I found out that out of my brother, sister, and me I was the only one to continue on the City tournament (last qualifier until the NYS scholarship tournament). The City tournament was in my local bowling alley so I knew the oil pattern very well. The day of the City tournament I was getting nervous because of all the people there from all over New York State. But even though I was really nervous I bowled very well that day. About a week later, they announced the
