Illness and Grief Outline
I. Initial confrontation (what’s the precursor)
How much pain and back and forth trips to the doctors or pharmacy do you have to make until somebody finds that there’s a real issue? How many pseudo drugs will be prescribed to no avail? How could we have had so much trust in their professional inadequacy? When did this condition develop and why wasn’t it detected? OMG, how did we get here? Should I have listened to all those nutritional programs on television? Why didn’t I take the articles on exercise more seriously? Why is my head always hurting? Should I try to isolate or diagnose myself or my loved one according to the recurring symptoms? Questions, questions, and more questions without answers; and yet I still feel helpless and my loved one is still in distress. How much more pain can I witness before somebody is forced into action? I guess it’s the one last dreaded trip to the emergency room that will prevail in one direction or the other; it will either unveil a medical validation or a psychological psychosis; In any event I’ve got to walk away with something valid. I don’t even know whether to start praying or start cussing.
So I enter the emergency room and start PRAYING.
“Your word is a lantern to my feet and a light upon my pathway” (ps.119:105) I remember saying Lord I’m depending on this your word to be true and I’m depending on you to guide my steps and thoughts.

“And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.”(Ex: 23:25)
Please Lord let this pertain to me and mine.
All the reasoning comes and bargaining and pleading, and the “ Oh Lord whatever I did wrong I promise I won’t do it again if you would only… just this one time… and so on and so on.
Then the doctor comes in with what may not seem like a miracle to a non-believer but I saw the light and he says. “If you had come in next week she wouldn’t have made it, this is a very aggressive tumor and is rapidly growing around her adrenal gland”. I heard, opportunity for a miracle Some things just stay with you, like; what so ever you ask in the name of Jesus, and come boldly to the Throne.
John.14 [13] and whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
John.16 [26] at that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
. Heb.4 [16] let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

After the confirmed reassurance of the word of the Lord we let the doctor then give us his explanation of the scientific facts as he knew them.
