ADMINISTRATION

1. GENERAL

1.1 The Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival (TIDBRF) reserves the right to change the rules and regulations stated in this document (Official Rules and Regulations) without notice. 1.2 The TIDBRF shall have the sole right and responsibility to construe, interpret and enforce the Official Rules and Regulations, and any decision of the TIDBRF rendered on or under these rules and regulations shall be conclusive and final. 1.3 The TIDBRF reserves the right to add, cancel, or make any changes to the divisional categories or the race structure. 1.4 The TIDBRF reserves the right to limit the number of teams that may participate in any division. 1.5 The TIDBRF reserves the right to accept or refuse any entry to the festival.

2. ELIGIBILITY

2.1 Divisions (A) Premier Mixed Division (Corporate, Community or University teams) (B) Premier Women Division (Corporate, Community or University teams) (C) Junior Mixed Division (Community or High School teams) (D) Dragon Boat Canada Sports (Open, Women)

2.1.1 Definition: Premier Divisions (Mixed or Women) consist of crew members who must be at least 16 years of age on or before the first practice session or the first race day. Junior Mixed Division consists of crew members who are at least 15 but under 19 years of age on January 15, 2013.

2.2 Premier Mixed and Premier Women Divisions
2.2.1 Conformity: All teams must conform to the Official Rules and Regulations of the TIDBRF.
2.2.2 Corporate/Community/University teams: Premier Division teams may consist of teams registered in the name of a business/commercial entity (Corporate teams) and teams registered in any other names other than that of a business/commercial entity (Community and University teams).
2.2.3 Corporate teams are only allowed to represent their respective sponsoring business’ commercial interests.
2.2.4 Community and University teams are not allowed to represent any commercial interests or take part in the races wearing or displaying any clothing or other items such as banners displaying commercial interests.
2.2.5 Registration forms must be signed by an officer of the business entity or a representative of the community group who has the authority to bind the organization.
2.2.6 Team members registered in this division are not allowed to register or participate in the junior division.
2.2.7 The logo on the team uniform and paddles can only be that of the sponsoring business or community group. The maximum size of which is limited to 12” x 12”.
2.2.8 Advertising: No other advertising displays (i.e. tents, signs, banners) are allowed without prior approval of the TIDBRF.
2.2.9 To race in the Sports Division, Dragon Boat Canada must confirm the team’s eligibility.
