Email can benefit an organization by sending out memos to the employees about important meetings. Email can also be set up to send administrator’s warnings if an employee has broken a rule when it comes to using the internet in the work place, such as going to an unauthorized website. An organization will want to limit the use of email during business hours to limit the time the employee is away from doing his job, thus increasing productivity. After an email leaves the person that sent it, it is supposed to go to the recipients of the email but due to increased internet security intrusions, many companies have seen the email spread over the internet by either hackers, or the user had some sort of virus or malware on their terminal that caused it to be re-routed to other people.
Instant messaging can be useful to an organization by letting managers and co-workers send messages to their peers. This activity would need to be monitored though, so that either trade secrets are not shared and to limit the user to use the program for work related uses. A drawback for an instant messaging system is that if the network were to go down, then sending a message could be delayed.
There are plenty of benefits from using a web page and search engine in an organization. The world today is based mostly on technology, so there is a ton of data out on the web that could be beneficial for the company. Access to this information is quicker than going to a library scouring books and magazines
