1.In order to compare the values of ε and εl , a table was created to show the differences between the recorded and calculated figures. The differences range between 0 -10.08. It can then be deduced that the variation is not huge due to the fact that the measurements are in micro strain (10-6). The variation between the individual figures can be explained as the result of the effects that atmospheric conditions had on them such as room temperature or by human error while reading the values of δ on the gauge, also the way the weights were put on, if they were put on then removed rather than them being systematically put on correctly.
