Social media has had a major influence on society in the 21st century, enabling people to engage with each other in radically new and different ways. In less than a decade, it has transformed how we stay in touch with friends, shop, network and gather our news. Many of the almost 1 billion users of Facebook — and the millions who use Twitter, or blogs — cannot imagine communicating without these tools. Hence, there is a great impact of social media on relationships, among people.

You have a lot to talk about, instances to tell, memories to bond over. But you may reconnect with someone you once much-loved. And now that you’re all grown-up you may get the urge to explore feelings that went unreciprocated 20 or 30 years ago. If you’re already in a relationship this could spell ruin everything.
It isn’t just old flames, moreover, people use social networking sites to hook up. Even if it’s a hook up of the extra-marital selection. It is very horrifying to think of the number of relationships and even marriages that have ended as a result of social networking. And when they do, where is the first place people share the gossip? On that same social networking site, naturally.

Just like a coin has two sides, so does the impact of social media on relationships does.
Engaging in various forms of social media is a routine activity that research has shown to benefit couples by enhancing communication, social connection, and even technical skills. However, it has a lot of positive aspects as its considered like a bridge for a two way communication between them. It may also be treated as a major problem generator, however that may be the case in just a few. Hence, dominantly, it has positive sides. But if you look at it more strongly, does it really have a positive impact on the couples ?
