To begin with, all the gospels depict the suffering of Christ and they all to a certain extent, references the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecy or if not, designate the sense of meaning and its importance. Psychologically, the connection of the temptations with the baptism is strikingly true, and two of the three are connected even for many with the divine voice, Thou art My Son (Matthew 3:17 and 4:3, 6).” The four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) begin with record of the baptism of Jesus. For example, some may doubt this spiritual encounter but the believers in Christ hold true to Psalms 2:7… “I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.” The 4 gospels are certainly connected to the Jesus’s baptism and help Christians to understand that baptism has a great significance with repentance.

Several major differences between the gospels is John predicting that Jesus was coming and after John’s death, Jesus burst on the scene identifying and co-writing John’s message and mission placing his stamp of approval on it.
