9-Food packaging
• Food packing is packaging for food. A package provides protection, tampering resistance, and special physical, chemical, or biological needs.

Functions of food packaging
• Physical protection - The food enclosed in the package may require protection from, among other things, shock, vibration, compression, temperature, bacteria, etc.

• Barrier protection - A barrier from oxygen, water vapor, dust, etc., is often required. Permeation is a critical factor in design. Some packages contain desiccants or oxygen absorbers to help extend shelf life. Modified atmospheres or controlled atmospheres are also maintained in some food packages. Keeping the contents clean, fresh, and safe for the intended shelf life is a primary function.

Zakuski
• It is a Russian term for hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, snacks, appetizers, served before the main course.
• These appetizers are commonly served at banquets, dinners, parties and receptions in Russia.

A Pu Pu platter:
• It is a tray of American Chinese cuisine or Hawaiian cuisine consisting of an assortment of small meat and seafood appetizers

Finger food:
• It is food meant to be eaten directly using the hands, in contrast to food eaten with a knife and fork, chopsticks, or other utensils.
• In some cultures, food is almost always eaten with the hands; for example, Ethiopian cuisine is eaten by rolling various dishes up in injera bread.
• In the South Asian subcontinent, food is traditionally always eaten with hands.

Satay:
• It is a dish of seasoned, skewered and grilled meat, served with a sauce.
• Satay may consist of diced or sliced chicken, goat, mutton, beef, pork, fish, other meats, or tofu; the more authentic version uses skewers from the midrib of the coconut palm frond, although bamboo skewers are often used.
• These are grilled or barbecued over a wood or charcoal fire, then served with various spicy
