Executive Summary
In order to discuss the importance of ecotourism in improving sustainability of tourism development, this report is first of all going to discuss the relationship between ecotourism and sustainability; following that, this report is going to identify problems of ecotourism in reality. Sometimes ecotourism will be merely a form within tourism marketing, which means natural resource using instead of protection. And stakeholder involvement is not always implemented. For ecotourism development planners, tourism product plan and design should consider the unity of human and nature as well as the natural laws of ecology (Nault & Stapleton, 2011). For tourism developers, environment protection is reflected through realizing the economic value of tourism resource and achieving sustainable investment benefits based on scientific planning and developing (Habibullah, 2013). For managers, environment protection means utilizing natural resource within the resource and environmental capacity for tourism development to avoid short-term economic behaviour and achieve sustainable development based on stakeholders’ interest coordination (Blangy & Mehta, 2006). For tourists, environment protection is reflected from their individual environmental protection realization with emphasis on material and spiritual wealth that nature provides, and they can consciously act in tourism resource and environment protection during their visiting process (Schianetz & Kavanagh, 2008).

The motivation of ecotourism as avoiding the distress of harsh environment within the city and to enjoy a holiday in natural environment requires the sustainable development of ecotourism for future.
