One cold winter day I was walking home from school and it was raining cats and dogs. It’s been two weeks now since I’ve been asking my parents for a dog. My parents did not like the idea of getting a dog. They though I wasn’t responsible enough. Suddenly, I looked to my left and saw a box on the side of the road. Coming from the box was a loud whining sound. I was curious to see what was in it. To my surprise, what I saw in the box was a puppy as white as snow.
Even though it was a dark and gloomy day in my eyes the puppy was glowing because I was so happy I came across it. I picked up the puppy and stared into its icy blue eyes. I knew my parents didn’t want a puppy, but I could not leave this puppy alone in the rain all by itself. I carried it in my arms all the way home. I was afraid my parents would not let me keep the poor puppy. I was really happy that I found it.
Once my mom got home I approached her with the puppy in my arms. My mom looked at the puppy surprised. I looked at my mom
“ Can I keep it?” I said with a smile on my face
“ You will have to ask you dad” my mom replied carelessly
After I asked my mom, my dad came home. I was very nervous to ask him. I walked up to him and asked
“ May I please keep it?” I said
“I suppose but you have to take very good care of it” he replied
I was very shocked, yet so happy. I knew I had to show my dad that I was responsible enough to keep and care for the dog.
Caring for the dog was becoming difficult, but
summer I went with my mom and two small brothers to tennis practice. After practice our mother decide that we are going to shopping center, because she need to buy gift for grandmother’s birthday. Boys were tired after practice and they started to shout “We do not want to go to the shopping center !“. Mom said that there is no discussion, because we have to buy this gift. Marek and Jaan were still shouting that they do not want to go there. They showed unacceptable behavior. Then mom said, if they will…
they proceeded to ask us if we wanted a pet. “I want a puppy”, I suggested. My mother mentioned that she also wanted a dog. Nobody in my family was against having a dog, so we started to think about what breed we wanted, and think of names for the new addition to our family. The first thing that my mom suggested we do, was to decide if we wanted a girl or a boy dog. My mom and brother wanted a girl. On the other hand my dad and sister wanted a boy. It was up to me to break the tie. I felt tense…
“Do you have to go to camp ?” “Yea I know, but it sounds really fun, and my mom is actually letting me go, and you know how she is.” “I’m gonna miss you.” “It’s only for 2 month’s, 1 day, and a few hours. Now that I think about it that is pretty long. How i’m gonna live without seeing that stupid face?” “You’ll live.” DING-DING. “Well this is it .” “Yea i know i’ll see if i can call from camp.” HONK-HONK. It was Connor's mom they were supposed to go from school straight to the camp. “I’ll miss you…
Thousands of dogs are suffering everyday. Horrible memories flash inside their heads. Memories of maggot-infested food and feces covered water. Memories of their mom being taken away and never seeing her again. This is a normal day in a puppy mill. Puppy mills are horrible places where they abuse and kill dogs everyday without ever thinking about it again. The life of a healthy dog in a loving family may be a desirable one. You would get to eat a lot, sleep a lot and play a lot. Plus, you…
in yesterday (for example, walked my dog, washed my mother's car). Were you active for more than 60 minutes? The activity that I participated in was walking my dog. I walked my dog twice and I took about 20 with each time that I walked the dog. 2. Explain why each of the activities you participated in can be considered moderate or vigorous. I think that the activity that I participated in yesterday could be considered moderate. I do not think that walking my dog can be vigorous (unless if done for…
past it. Whether it be walking around a new college campus, driving to a place I've never been, or finding my way around an unfamiliar building, getting lost is one of my greatest fears. One sunny day in July of this summer, I decided I would take my dog to the regional park near my house. To give some background, Ball's Bluff Regional Park is where the Battle of Ball's was fought in the American Civil War. It's about 80 acres full of trees and little paths to "follow" that "always lead back to the…
always makes it. The only difference on this beautiful morning, on that day, was that it was my birthday. Our elementary school was two minutes away from home, by foot. So my sister and I walked, hand in hand, or as we ate a juicy red apple that my mom lovingly placed in our hands before she kissed on our cheeks, forehead, or both. She and I would return the affection with a kiss to her cheek. We walk to school alongside all of the students who walk, with parent or without, with sister or brother…
When I got out of elementary school I went to middle school, but after the first two months of public school my parent and I decided that it was not worth it. So when my mom started teaching at a private school she asked me if I wanted to go there, I happily accepted this invitation. The school was great but being taught by my mom sucked. She taught me math and whenever I would raise my had in class she would never come to me because her theroy was she could have more time with the other kids and…
Meeting someone new is harder for some people but for others it’s easy. In my case, it was significantly difficult. My Mom basically raised me by herself. I had a step dad but he was a no body, he didn’t do anything for anyone except himself. I never liked my step dad and my Mom knew of it. She knew I wasn’t happy that she married him, but I dealt with it any ways. My Mom taught me the aspects of life, my manners, respect, the hard and the not so hard things, she taught me the world. She gave…
me in their own way my papa also know as my hero can be best described as this type of grandparent. When I was younger and my mom would go to work and drop me off at my nanas and papas. My nana and papa would have to take care of me and ,at the very least this meant, watching cowboys all day with oreos and milk and maybe the privilege of getting to drink some coffee. My mom would never allow us to drink coffee and whenever I would go over there she always said “ remember NO drinking coffee, it going…
