Divorces involving Children
Ever since the early 1950s there has been an increment of divorce rates and single parenting that has been risen and this is due to the many of the movements that came after WWII. These increases of divorces rates in the United States after the 60s came in due to a fast and expanding economy, the rise of feminism and large numbers of women entering the workforce for the first time. As times progressed now in the 1970s divorce rates rose again, this time it was because of the adoption no fault divorce laws. It was during times like these again in 1975 that not only and the number of divorces had risen to 40%. but the number of marriages had decreased by 30%. Since then in the 70s the divorce rates in the U.S. have slowly risen. Many researchers though have come to the conclusion that it is estimated that divorce rates will reach 50%. Yeah that’s right 1 out of 2 couples don’t make it through. Surprisingly but true this claim although is not proven to be all true, the overall rates prove to be so in the future. Even as of this very moment statistics show that 50% of marriages end up as a divorce.

Another common factor to an increase in divorce rates are due to the fact of more and more marriages are between younger couples. Though we may not pay much importance, but it is these the younger couples that in most cases have children and separate quickly. Studies have shown that the new married couples with lower levels of income and education often are the ones to end up in more divorces. The numbers have also shown that couples marrying at younger ages have higher divorce rates than those who marry in their 30s or older age. A major and very great example of young troubling marriages can be related to the much newer series from MTV called "Teen Mom" and "16 and Pregnant". In these both shows produced by MTV show great examples how younger couples struggle, how family backgrounds are very important to their outcome and most commonly how young female teenagers go through the hard process of raising their children.
DIVORCE SIDE EFFECTS
There are many side effects when children are faced in situations when their parents go through a divorce. Some for example can be very big and others quite small, depending on the stress and the responsibility the young child faces. Some of the biggest changes children begin to cope occurs when their parents are involve in other relationships. As to say for example the father begins to have another relationship as soon as he was divorce. In the child’s mind of course this grief feeling of coping with the separation of their parents will be stressful and grudge feeling. Another great example is when contact with a parent diminishes great psychological side effects come into play. In cases where the child often has a great amount of contact with one parent, often their father will be reduced.
When parents decide to divorce or separate, the children are faced with multiple stressors. These stressors become other divorce side effects in a child’s mind when the interactions of both parents are present, but different levels of tolerance are presented to the child. That is to say child lives in two homes, with two different families, different chores and responsibilities and expectations as well from different parent.
