The textbook gives some characteristic of the term “Groupthink” like; Illusion of invulnerability, tendency to moralize, feelings of unanimity, etc. For me it all come down to the absence of exalt your opinion, position, judgment, perception, etc., due to consternation, persecution or rejection against you from the higher-up or even the ones at your level.

Groupthink can affect organization’s decisions in many areas by giving the wrong perception of organization dilemmas. It can lead to bad decisions and unhealthy results that in some cases may affect the entire organization.

I’m certain “groupthink” can be a deadly weapon for organizations. However, groupthink is not an entirely negative phenomenon in situations where extreme levels of disagreement exist; groupthink can impose a level of harmony by seeking and cultivating common ground.

It’s my opinion that most of the time the problem lean on the lack of good leaders in the organization and the large amount of dictators. We need more leaders that encourage/inspire employees to voiced their opinion and reach high level of good communication.

And to add something to this subject I believe “Groupthink” is presence everywhere. It’s at home, at work, in society, etc. It’s important to know and recognize the ramification of “groupthink”, good and bad. It not just can be unsatisfactory for companies, but I can tell now
