Dear Mrs. Kapuscinski, I’ve learned the most this year in my English 9 class, especially when it comes to reading. I always had hard time understanding a story in most books I read, but now I’ve progressed and accomplished a better reading and writing skills since September. I’ve mostly progressed in my reading and my critical thinking skills. When I started reading, “To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee” I thought I was never going to get the story and probably fall behind but as we got through the story with the glass, I started getting a much better understanding of the story. As the year went by I developed my reading and understanding skills and as we read harder books, my critical thinking got higher and not I get a better understanding of a story with little details. One of the most challenging experiences I had this year is getting a reading homework. The fact that I’m not used to reading alone without extra help made it difficult but then as the year went by I got more interested in reading by myself and it showed somehow in my grade. My most memorable book this year was, “The Tragedy or Romeo and Juliet”. For some reason, I think I’m connected to this book because I have a somehow similar character with Romeo. Even though I’m not as desperate as Romeo to commit a suicide, I sometime fall easily in love at first sight.
