Tina and Dan have a few options to consider for contraception before while waiting on having a baby. The first contraception method I would advise them to consider would be an oral contraceptive, commonly known as the pill. The pill may be the best options for this couple because I do not think Tina or Dan have to worry about sexually transmitted diseases. They are in a committed marriage and I am assuming they are faithful. If the pill is taken correctly the pill has a 100% success rate. If Tina and Dan have a timeline of when they want to start trying for children, the pill will be out of her system within 3 months of non-usage. Negative side effects of the pill include headaches, dizziness and nausea. These side effects are temporary. The condom may be effective as well, but since they are a married couple I do not think they want something that may interrupt the love making experience. I do not think Dan would have an objection to Tina taking an oral contraceptive. Linda chooses to be single and only engage in sexual intercourse with long term committed partners; Linda should always carry condoms or make sure her sexual partner is equipped with condoms before sexual intercourse takes place. This is tough because I do not know Linda’s definition of long term committed partners. Linda has to be wary of sexually transmitted diseases.
