Constructive Styles

According to my LSI Circumplex, I fall more towards the Constructive Style. Human Synergistics’ the constructive style reflects self-enhancing thinking and behavior that contribute to one’s level of satisfaction, ability to develop healthy relationships and work effectively with people, and proficiency at accomplishing tasks.
I could immediately see that some of my results for the behaviors were right on the mark. Others I felt were a bit below the chart on one of two of them, but there was one results seem completely not on the chart. I believe in setting and achieving personal goals along with job-defined goals. I also concur with the definition of achievement trait that each individual input is valuable to the whole. I enjoy assuming challenging tasks as it is provides a medium for continual learning and development.
My primary constructive style is Humanistic-Encouraging, which fell into the middle percentile range. My next highest ranking style is Affiliative. What I was most shocked over was how low Power, Oppositional, Competitive and Perfectionistic scored. I am not sure that I totally agree with those results. I believe that my scoring should have been a little higher on all of them. As far as self-actualizing, I believe it could have been slightly higher.
I learned that my personal behavior should be mostly manifested from these styles. I can push for excellence in achievement, yet counter or temper it with the humanistic-encouraging and affiliative styles. We should think about trying our inclusive bests and taking a team with us, if necessary, in achieving transformational self-actualizing goals.

My goals tend to lean toward getting the job done and in doing it well. I possess effective planning and problem-solving skills. I work well with others and share responsibility, inspire others, and build confidence makes achievement-oriented people excellent leaders.
There is no question that a leader’s behavior significantly impacts individuals, the culture, and ultimately the performance of an organization. Humanistic-Encouraging style I believe it can assist others in fulfilling their potential by providing a supportive climate that inspires self-improvement. Although very high scores on this scale are uncommon, the Humanistic-Encouraging style is positive, healthy and effective. Myself belief that I can help people improve themselves and that I can see, the best in people is what makes me feel better myself. In addition, I am proud of my ability to accept others as they are.
The Affiliative style is important to my growth because it is important to me to improve and maintain relationships in my life. I value teamwork, cooperation and mutually rewarding relationships. An affiliative leader promotes harmony among his or her followers and helps to solve any conflict. This type of leader will also build teams that make sure that their followers feel connected to each other.
The Achievement Style person will usually set goals and be enthusiastic about working towards these challenging but realistic goals. In pursuit of these goals and achieving high quality results, they are likely to follow a well-developed plan that has been considered in depth. This kind of person will carefully examine their options before deciding on a plan of action. This describes me to a tee.

People who have an Affiliative style are more focused on the social aspects of work. I am a very social person. Often times I find myself too concerned with building interpersonal relationships with the people I work with and helping others. I like to help other people feel worthwhile and have a need to build relationships that are meaningful. While this trait can be a positive, it also can be a negative trait. Sometimes I can be too friendly and over trusting.
