" This is thy sheath; there rust, and let me die" (Act 5, Scene 3, 183) the last words Juliet Capulet said before she drove a dagger into her heart. She made the choice to take her own life because her love Romeo Montague made the same choice for the same reason. Therefore, the death of both Romeo and Juliet could have been avoided easily just by making the right choices.

One of the most important issues in the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is that of choice. The first choice Romeo makes is when he decides to go to the Capulet's party. Romeo is astounded by her beauty and claims he is in love after first seeing Juliet. Romeo, convinced that he is in love expresses his feelings towards Juliet leading her to believe that their love is true. After meeting the first night and confessing their love and feelings towards each other each other they decide to get married and plan their wedding. Juliet Relizes that all might be too sudden and voices it to Romeo by saying " It is too rash, too unadvised, too sudden/Too like the lighteniing which doth cease to be" (Act 2, Scene 2, 125-126). However, they do not slow down. The both feel the are weak withou each other. The are aware that their families are enemies but they do not seem to care. Both Romeo and juliet are being stubborn and selfish by wanting what they cannot have and wanting everything to go there way. Even though they loved each other enough to do anything for each other, they would not give the other one up for the greater good. They only seemed to care about themselves, their love and their hapiness. That being said they do not stop and think about the consequences and think whom they may hurt. Romeo acting through rage kills Tybalt after Tybalt Kills Mercutio and was banished from Verona and had to live in Mantua. After the loss of Juliet's cousin Tybalt, her family suggest that she marry County Paris.
