The name of my business is called ‘D’s Streets’. This is will be the name of a new brand of shoes. They will vary and range from flip flops, slippers to loafers, smart shoes, casual wear and also originals such as high tops and mid tops. The main product would be a designer label as I see it. I would love to be able to see it happen. The service would also be shoes and shoe accessories as I think there is a huge gap in the market for shoes with charm for example. The idea came about as I am interested in teen fashion as it is a huge part of my life. I love clothes and also want to be in the lime light for my shoes especially as I have a wide range at home. Since I love looking at different styles and designs of shoes it gave me the idea to start something of my own. Also since I am so keen to do this it would really fascinate me and interest me. I love a bit of a challenge. I know that it is a very competitive market with the powerhouses such as Nike, Adidas and Supra to name a few, but I believe I can bring something new and fresh to the table.
I think for me at present it would be easier if I started my business in London and kept it here for a while. This is because London is a very big and multicultural city; here I can get many customers and new and inspiring ideas. Later I would love to move into France as they have a good eye for good fashion. Also being in Europe means that I can travel easily between places. When my business grows, I will have a store in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Paris, London, L.A, New York, Cape Town and Sydney. It shall be worldwide by then and hopefully not fully globalised. I have already started off in a partnership with my two friends and for now we would like to stay this way, maybe a little later on becoming a limited company if more money is needed and so on.
As I said earlier I have been interested in teenage fashion for a while so for me I think I would be aiming at people aged 13 plus for now. Obviously as it expands I can look into baby wear etc. The purpose of my business is to have a good time; I see this as a new challenge and also an enjoyment ride as it involves what I love to do. At the same time I will take it seriously because I will be earning a living and I’m looking out for my own welfare.
It took me a
