1. Identify four main points that would be included in a contract of employment. If possible, use an example contract to support your answer (feel free to obscure any confidential information).

4. Describe how representative bodies can support employees.
One example of a representative body is a Trade Union. These can be large organisations that represent the interests of their members.
They can offer assistance through work based representatives and can help employees with Information and consultation representation, Health & Safety, Pensions, Redundancy, Pensions and Workforce Agreements
5. Briefly describe employer and employee responsibilities for equality and diversity in a business environment. You should give at least two employer responsibilities and two employee responsibilities.
If possible, provide relevant equality and diversity procedures from your workplace (or place of study) to support your answer. These documents should be annotated to highlight the relevant sections.
Employers are required to develop policies and procedures that address equality and diversity issues and ensure that they train staff on Equality and diversity policies and procedures within the workplace. All members of staff, contractors and visitors are required to comply with this.
Should promotion arise in the workplace all candidates are to be considered based on their ability to carry out the duties required and not grounds such as friendship/family connections, Race or Gender.
All employees should ensure that they have an understanding of the company’s equality and diversity policies and procedures.
Every employee is responsible for their own behaviour and they should treat others with respect and a polite manner; as they would expect in return.
