1. Virginia is one of the most successful colonies because of tobacco. There is really nothing more to add than that. The colonists grew a product that is still being sold all over the world today. Another colony, Pennsylvania, flourished as well. This colony was diverse with rich lands. The colony was known as the best poor man's country in the world. They made their profit from wheat and other crops. 3. The Chesapeake colony felt the slaves were a wiser investment deal. For one reason; slavery was passed down from mother to child. An entire family of slaves was a good thing for them. Plus, slavery was for life, unlike for indentured servants that would soon be free. For Virginia, the colonists were satisfied with the servants because they were cheaper. Eventually, servants became hard to find with the most people being able to obtain jobs and homes. So, planter increased and laborers decreased, leaving slaves as the only option.

4. One event was the Massachusetts Bay Company giving charter to the Puritans to move north of Plymouth. Next, charter changed into a form of government. The General Court became a two house legislature. Lastly, Rodger Williams claimed Massachusetts was corrupted by the English Church. When he escaped from banishment, Rodger, purchased Providence. This sent refugees to Rhode Island from Massachusetts.
