Amy Martin: I believe that Amy is an Aries (March 21 to April 20). An Aries is adventurous, ambitious, impulsive, enthusiastic and full of energy. They are leaders, and doesn't take command easily because they are to “take charge.” Aries are much concerned with them self, both positively and negatively. They are self-reliant but also self centered (sometimes) and concerned with their own personal advancement and physical satisfaction. When Amy was first unplugged and met Eldest, she didn't obey him. She actually thought that he was person that was unplugging the frozens. She referred to Eldest as an old man, while everyone else on the ship would worship Eldest at his feet. As an Aries, she is adventurous and full of energy. Early in the book, we find out that she wanted to be a runner and someday win the New York Marathon. An Aries makes a good athlete, which she is. So, when she began running on the ship (only for a short time though, because she was so different, red hair and pale skin, that everyone freaked out) and was claustrophobic when she realized the walls of the ship. That she couldn't escape the ship. Some of the likes of an Aries are; action, coming in first, challenges, championing causes, and spontaneity. The dislikes are; waiting around, admitting failure, no opposition, and tyranny. Amy liked taking action and hated waiting around. When she was told that she should stay in the Hospital because she would be in danger, she left thee hospital to go running. Because she couldn't stand staying in the Hospital like a prisoner. She also thought of Eldest as a Tyrant. Eldest: I believe that Eldest is a Capricorn (December 22 to January 20). A Capricorn is normally confident, strong willed and calm. They are hardworking, unemotional, shrewd, practical, responsible, persevering, and cautious are capable of persisting for as long as is necessary to accomplish a goal they have set for themselves. They have a great respect for authority but may not, if they reach high rank, be willing to listen to other opinions on things they are directly responsible for. As the ranking authority figure in a given situation they expect their underlings to be as self disciplined as they themselves are, and to perform every task undertaken to the highest standard. A Capricorn likes; Reliability, professionalism, knowing what you discuss, firm foundations and purpose. And they dislike; wild Schemes, fantasies, and ridicule. Eldest is a leader who hates difference and schemes. He likes stuff when it is peaceful, even as going as far as using a drug to control people. This drug suppresses emotion and makes people easier to control. It is also important to note that Capricorn governs the knees, bones, and skin. At the beginning we learn that Eldest as one hurt knee because of something that happened years before the time in the book. Elder: I believe that Elder is a Taurus (April 21 to May 21). The characteristics of the Taurus are solidity, practicality, determination, and strength of will. No one will ever be able to control them, but they will follow a leader they trust. At the beginning, Elder didn't think Eldest was that bad of a leader, it wasn't until he realized how Eldest was controlling that he started to distrust
