Academic Paper

I grew up in Laguna Beach, CA, so my academic history is comprised of schools in the south Orange County area. I went to elementary school at El Morro Elementary, middle school at Thurston Middle School, and high school at Laguna Beach High School. I have played baseball since I was six years old up until my senior year in high school when I injured my shoulder. Math was always my strongest subject; it always came easy to me. I maintained around a 3.0 GPA throughout high school.

When end up transferring I plan on majoring in Computer Engineering and obtaining a degree in it. I would like to end up specializing in software development because that is what I am most interested in. As a career, I would like to work for one of the large software companies (not Apple). I see the information technology industry as a very lucrative and constantly expanding industry. My dream job would be working for Google as a developer for their Android mobile operating system because that is what I have some experience working with it. I see great potential in mobile computing and the Android OS.

I feel that I am fairly knowledgeable for someone who is self-taught and has no formal computer science training. All of my knowledge of computer science comes from information that is on the internet. If I wanted to figure something out I went online, mostly to forums, to find a solution. Three years ago I got my first Android phone and soon after found out about the modding community. As time went on I learned more and more things.
