There are many advantages of having a college degree, compared to not having one. Three advantages of having a degree are having a job that you have passion for, money, and the people you are surrounded with. It is stressful for someone to know that they do not love their job, or stressed all the time about money. One of the advantages of having a college degree is that a college graduate will be better qualified to work in a field that he or she has a passion for , so in return one would be happy to get up and go to work to make a difference. The disadvantage of not having a college degree is that for the most part people would be picking jobs that don't interest them, but got them to have an income coming in. With this being the case most of the time it is not a career , but just a means to an end . Having a college degree means that when people graduate they are more likely to pick a job that they love and stay with it until they retire instead of bouncing from job to job over the years and having to start back at the bottom of the totem pole, it makes for a stressful live and confusion about where your future stands. Money also plays a huge role in the difference between having a college degree and not. According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness over 640,000 people experienced homelessness on any given night in the U.S. and nearly 6% or them have college degrees. Even with a college degree it doesn't guaranty your future, but it does better your chances of not being one of those statistics. Many people that live from paycheck to paycheck also have to rely on the government for assistance, NBC News stated that there are 22.4 million households using food stamps, that's 15% of the American population. I think it's great that the government steps up to help people in need but I would much rather have the self satisfaction knowing I provide for my family on my own. The benefits of a degree is that someone can buy a nice home for their family, drive nice cars, put their kids through college and just basically have options for their life instead of being very limited of what they can do with their time and money. Where someone work also determines the type of people they surround themselves with and having
