As you read in Chapter 21 “An Emerging World Power,” the government clamped down hard on those who dissented from the war and on those who held radical or unpopular opinions. In this assignment you will explore how political and ethnic minorities were treated during and after World War I.

Definition: A “minority” is anyone who is not like or does not agree with the majority. It does not have to mean an ethnic or racial minority.

He was hung and killed because he was accused of molesting a white girl. The authorities tried to handle the situation but he was then kidnapped and hung before the police could even get to him.
Even if it was an accusation if you are minority your automatically guilty of the crime therefore you will pay and be hung!

Basically his poems says that if we as blacks are going to die don’t make a show out of it don’t let the whites glorify that they have hung us by standing around watching mocking us. Let us die nobly so we can be honored through the dead.

THE PALMER RAIDS

A series of bombing began in the summer of 1919 one destroying attorney palmers home partially in D.C even though there were only about 70,000 self-professed communist he still held them responsible for many of the activities that had went down including the bombings. So he began a series of raids against them. Striking without warning or warrants. He focused on aliens more than he did citizens he seized about 249 aliens and had them deported to the soviet union.
That even when they thought they had power at the end of the day they had none ended up getting deported.
