Have you ever tried to save someone, but then you ended up needing help? I helped a girl from suicide thoughts, but I ended up going to rehab. The moral of the story is help people but don’t involve your self.
It was like any other night of the summer, staying up late and having fun, when I decided I wanted to start getting ready for bed I was still talking to J. and the conversation was pretty normal. I got into bed and I planned on talking to J. until she was ready to go to bed her self. Things were going pretty good; although I was tired and wanting to go to sleep I wanted to stay up with J. because I loved talking to her. She hadn’t texted back for a while and maybe I should’ve gone to bed because when she texted things got to be too much for both of us.
She texted back “I could end it” and I replied back “end what?” and she replied back saying “my life...” At this point I didn’t know what to think; I really didn’t know how to react or what to say. So I replied back the best way I thought and I wanted to show her how much I cared and how other people may react. I told her that I would hurt myself if she did that. Right away she said that she wouldn’t do that as long as I was safe. We ended our conversation shortly after because she had summer school the next day.
The next day I woke up to the sound of my mother’s voice, now I found this odd because I was at my grand parents home and she had to be at work. My mother told me that she was taking me to get some lunch, so I went to grab my shoes from my uncle’s room and when I entered my uncle asked “Did you say you wanted to kill your self?” I responded back quickly by saying “of course not why would I?” My mother took me to Wendy’s and half way through my meal she asked “have you told anyone that you wanted to kill your
it. Here enters sin, “the corruption of the human race, and the long, difficult history of fallen humanity” (Hindson and Yates 2012:2) From the moment sin entered this equation we call existence, humans struggled to find their true identity with God. What was so clear in the Garden of Eden was now a jumbled mess of sin and mistakes. Even through disobedience, God loved us enough to offer a solution, a savior. In Genesis we see only the tip of God’s love for his people, not just the Jews but the entire…
lacked humanness and remained as “the Creator had condemned” (line 107), in other words he become a ruthless creature. Grendel’s falling can be compared to devil’s fall. He worked evil into the world just as devil did. Grendel and the devil are both fallen and unable to gain blessing of God’s love and grace. In contrast, Beowulf travels far from the land of Geats to defeat Grendel. In many ways Beowulf is a typical epic hero.…
feast between “Us the Beloved” and our wonderful Savior and Lord. When we become bombarded with the doom centric apocalyptic predictions of this world we can rest in hope and peace because Revelations tells us what we can expect. That in the end times we will not be the objects of wrath but the recipients of love. Revelations tells us how the story ends. When the time comes when the God of justice pours out the cup of wrath on those who have fallen short of fulfillment of His perfect law it will…
2:3-5). Morality and ethics are the purposeful ways in which we make decisions toward ourselves and others. With the character of God, Christians should treat others as they would want to be treated themselves, with love, respect and forgiveness when fallen short of the Glory of the Lord (nKJv, Romans 13:1-7). A Christian should live in the word of God, not of this world. Caring for monetary things more than the scripture will not give anyone a future (Matthew 6:24). Never has there been a U-Haul following…
process of evangelism, the apologist/evangelist is actually attempting to present a rational, reason why another person should believe not only in God but also in His son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Of course the goal is that the object of the evangelistic presentation receives Jesus Christ, by faith as his or her personal Savior and Lord.4 A general rule of Evidentialism is that it is “primarily inductive, rather than deductive, in its logical form. Inductive arguments reason from as many facts, or…
as a defender of the Commonwealth and put into house-arrest. Milton lost his eyesight while under house-arrest, but then completed Paradise Lost in 1667. Paradise Lost begins after Lucifer and the other fallen angels have been defeated by the Son and are banished into Hell. The fallen angels then get together in Pandemonium where Satan uses his skill to organize his followers with the aid of Mammon and Beelzebub. After debating who will go to God’s newly created place, Satan volunteers and…
After reading both Plato’s Symposium and Saint Augustine’s Confessions, one can see how the latter holds certain ideas and concepts that are parallel to those found in the former. Despite the differences in time, men are hindered from their pursuit of goodness, truth, etcetera, by similar, if not entirely identical, desires. That being said, of all of the speeches found in the Symposium, Augustine would connect most deeply to that of Alcibiades. Alcibiades is depicted as a prominent Athenian statesman…
Heavy eyebrows that fell over the thick, dark lashes - shadowing the kaleidoscopic, picturesque features. A sculpted chin and high chiseled cheekbones, everything about him was seemingly impossible, improbable for anyone to attain such beauty. I’d fallen in love. Possibly the worst scenario to meet my husband. He was intelligent, insightful, and to me, I saw past his appearance, and any of his flaws, and was captivated by he in himself. I will admit, his looks surpassed most, and yet…
Individuals in both philosophic and religious disciplines have been having the fate vs free will debate for centuries. Moreover, there are those who believe in fate these include many religious people.in this context, they believe in God and that God is solely responsible for the creation of the universe and all the occurrences within it .therefore, everything that happens in every person’s life is gods will. Under this category there are still non-religious people who don’t necessarily believe in…
Tanaka, Aaron Envision Conservatory Humanities Essay 4/25/14 Liberty Leading the People Analysis Liberty is defined by Merriam Webster Dictionary as a state of freedom to choose, act or speak freely as one desires.
